SOUTHERN DELTA SALINITY and SAN JOAQUIN RIVER FLOW OBJECTIVES
The Bay Delta Strategic Workplan requires a concurrent basin planning and
water rights proceeding to review and potentially modify 1) the southern Delta salinity
objectives for agricultural beneficial uses and 2) the San Joaquin River flow objectives
for fish and wildlife beneficial uses included in the Bay-Delta Plan, and their
implementation through water rights and other measures by 2012. In addition, the
Workplan also requires an evaluation of compliance with southern Delta salinity and
San Joaquin River flow objectives and enforcement and other actions (including acting on
petitions) as appropriate.
