To: Bay-Delta Service List DEADLINES FOR SUBMITTING EVIDENCE FOR PHASES 5, 6, AND 7 OF THE BAY-DELTA WATER RIGHT HEARING Based on a review of the information we have received to date, the parties should plan to submit their case in chief exhibits for Phases 5, 6, and 7 of the Bay-Delta Water Rights Hearing by the following dates. Unless these deadlines are extended, the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) will consider exhibits timely if they are received by the SWRCB no later than 5:00 p.m. on July 6 for Phase 5, on July 13 for Phase 6, and on July 20 for Phase 7. The SWRCB intends to provide three to four weeks between the submittal of exhibits for a phase and commencement of that phase of the hearing. Thus we may extend these dates later. The subject of Phase 5 is the responsibilities of the parties for meeting the dissolved oxygen and southern Delta salinity objectives. The subject of Phase 6 is the petition of the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation (USBR) and the Department of Water Resources for joint use of points of diversion in the southern Delta. The subject of Phase 7 is the petition of the USBR to change and consolidate specified places of use and purposes of use in its water right permits for the integrated parts of the Central Valley Project. If you have questions regarding the deadlines, you may call Victoria Whitney, Chief of the bay-Delta Unit, at (916) 653-2516. Sincerely, Signed on 12 June 1998 Edward C. Anton, Chief Division of Water Rights |
