O’Brien         Downey, Brand, Seymour & Rohwer         555 Capitol Mall, 10th Floor         Sacramento, CA 95814-4686                         Dear Mr. O’Brien: REQUEST FOR HEARING ON A SETTLEMENT AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE DEPARTMENT OF WATER RESOURCES AND THE SOUTH SUTTER WATER DISTRICT This is in response to your January 11, 2000, letter requesting that the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) schedule a hearing prior to the commencement of Phase 8 of the Bay-Delta Water Rights Hearing to consider an anticipated settlement agreement between South Sutter Water District and the Department of Water Resources. You also requested that the SWRCB establish a hearing process by which any other agreeements can be approved prior to Phase 8. Thank you for your comments. The SWRCB is considering several alternative approaches for continuing the Bay-Delta Water Rights Hearing, including your request. Please refer to the accompanying letter to the Bay-Delta Service List for further details pertaining to this matter.
