PHASE 8 OF BAY-DELTA HEARINGS
The State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) has received one negotiated agreement regarding the contribution of water by Sacramento Valley parties to help meet the Bay-Delta Water Quality Control
Plan, and we have heard that other agreements may be forthcoming. We have also received questions regarding issues to be considered in Phase 8 and how CALFED negotiations might interface with
Phase 8.
We have, therefore, decided to extend the date for receiving signed agreements to March 21, 2000, and to hold a workshop beginning on March 27, 2000, to receive input on the scoping of Phase 8.
After the workshop, the SWRCB will prepare a notice for the Phase 8 hearing which will commence on June 6, 2000. Also, the SWRCB will hold a hearing on the negotiated agreement between Bear River
interests and the Department of Water Resources beginning on April 11, 2000.
A notice for the scoping workshop will be issued soon.
